- Author: Moses, (technically anonymous)
- Written: ca. 1445 BC possibly during the wilderness sojourn
Notes
- The first five books of the Bible are called the Torah (Hebrew), the Pentateuch (Greek) or the Law (English).
- The contents were possibly revealed to Moses along with the Ten Commandments.
- Some scholars believe that Moses wrote the first-person content (“I…”), while another author wrote the third-person content (“Moses…”).
